Medicare Advantage

Medicare Advantage (also called Part C) is an alternative way to receive your Medicare benefits through a private insurance company approved by Medicare. These plans combine Part A (hospital) and Part B (medical) into one plan, and many also include Part D prescription drug coverage. Some Medicare Advantage plans may offer extra benefits like dental, vision, hearing, fitness programs, transportation, and over-the-counter allowances, depending on where you live and which plan you choose.

The tricky part is that Advantage plans can work differently than Original Medicare. Costs can be structured as copays and coinsurance, provider access may depend on networks (HMO/PPO), and some services may require referrals or prior authorization. That’s why it’s so important to understand the details before you enroll, or before you switch.

Below, you’ll find ToniSays.com articles and resources that break down Medicare Advantage plans into plain English, step-by-step so you can compare your options confidently and choose coverage that protects both your health and your budget.
