I just wanted to thank Toni for her dedication and for all the hard work that she does to help people like me sort through this Social Security and Medicare stuff. I am so thankful for everything that Toni, and all of you who help her, to do all that is necessary to help us get through the paperwork. I just wanted to let Toni know that I have recently been diagnosed with a rare blood disorder and I am currently taking a chemo pill for this disorder. I’ve had many doctor visits (I see 3 doctors), and many tests. Because of the help you gave me to choose the Medicare supplements, my doctors and meds have been very affordable. Even the Chemo meds are under $30 and that is a 90 day supply! Things could have been so much worse. I thank God for His love and mercy, and His wisdom to send me to you. I can’t thank you enough.
Please keep up the good work. There are so many people who need you and you have been a wonderful blessing to so many!

After reviewing the material from one of Toni’s “Confused About Medicare” seminars that I attended in 2013 and doing a bit of my own research, I became concerned about the guidance regarding Medicare Supplemental Insurance that was being provided to me by the brokerage firm that had been engaged by my company.  The representative with whom I was working just did not seem to understand or appreciate the nuances associated with enrolling a person, such as my spouse, with medical issues who had had Part B in effect for many years.

I was the one just talking to you. I was employed until July of 2009 at which time I was laid off. I was at that time 68 and did not think I needed schedule B until my insurance ran out which will be the end of this month, After applying for the Part B I was informed I would be penalized back to the time I turned 65 and that I would have to wait until Jan 2011 to apply and not take effect until July. I am sorry I did not get your book two years ago.

“My husband and I enjoyed the workshop very much and had some questions answered. We are going to change back to Medicare. We had changed to Humana Advantage last year. It was fine for him, but not for me. Continuing with the meds I was on (and doing well!) was not acceptable to HA and they wanted me to start with lower tiers and then work up to where I was when joining. I got so frustrated I just quit taking them all except for one. Not a smart thing to do I know but I seem to have done fine. Anyway, we are both going back to Medicare and thank you and Toni for making it so clear.

When I (we) was preparing for retirement I spent a vast amount of time on line with Medicare and various insurance companies attempting to determine what the best or at least acceptable plan for us. The more I researched the more confused I became, there are just an enormous amount of options and I felt like I was just spinning my wheels.  I was almost to the point of not retiring and continuing to work in order to avoid the Medicare maze. Then we contacted Toni and Jim, made an appointment and visited with the experts. They made us so comfortable and explained and guided us through the different plans and options. We are now retired and have a Medicare plan that provides us with coverage and is reasonably priced. We owe it to Toni and Jim for helping us escape the jungle and the insurance companies trying to sell us policies we did not need.
